File Purge

This week at work I’ve been doing a little spring cleaning. By this I mean I’m purging a filing cabinet that’s full of various contracts and/or agreements that we no longer need anymore. Some of these files literally go back to 1986.

Judging by the amount of coughing I’ve recently started doing, I am apparently pretty allergic to 23 year old dust.

Who’s Clarence?

A long time ago, when I had a different life, Heather and I bought a Saturn together. Since then I occasionally get emails from Saturn telling me about various updates and promotions. The funny thing about them is that they always begin with, “Dear Clarence,”.

I Guess I Was Tired

Last night I ran 4.5 miles, went home, ate some dinner, laid on the couch, watched How I Met Your Mother, and feel asleep.

I woke up around 9:00, washed my face, brushed my teeth, and went to bed.

When I woke up this morning I felt like I couldn’t believe that it was already time to go back to work. Also, I seemed to have developed a thing for listing out what I did in sentence form.

I didn’t have enough to write about these two things to give them thier own post, however, I still felt like sharing.

  • I got a new 19 inch flat panel monitor at work. I haven’t gotten used to it yet, and I’ve been finding it overwhelming (cue the “that’s what she said” jokes)
  • I got a flu shot today. Hopefully getting sick will be something that I can avoid this year.

Yesterday, in the restroom at work, I saw a really tall man standing in front of the mirror sticking a Q-tip up his nose. While I realize how one would assume this might be a good idea, I don’t think it would work like this guy was hoping.

An Oddity About Me

Oddly enough I’ve realized that I will seldom buy a book without first reading an article about it and/or looking it up on the internet. It wasn’t until the ride home that I remembered that I had almost bought my newest book (The Authoritative Calvin and Hobbs) a couple of years ago on half.com.

So far it’s one of the best books I’ve ever bought. Honestly it makes me smile every time I open it.

Hospitals Should Be Easy To Navigate

I’m going to a new doctor on Wednesday for my back (it still a lot from my car wreck) and he asked that I bring a copy of my x-rays that were taken at the ER. So during my lunch break I ran over to Saint Thomas hospital. After driving around that building twice and then walking around aimlessly for about 10 minutes, I decided that Saint Thomas is the most confusing hospital ever. But you will be happy to know that I did actually find where I needed to go; although it was by pure accident.

Incase your interested, here’s a picture of my spine:

None of That Boring Stock Market Crap, Only The Interesting Articles For Me

Recently I’ve noticed that during conversations I often say, “I read this article in The Wall Street Journal… blah blah blah”.

It happens so much that one of my bosses has said to me that he thinks that I may be reading the Wall Street Journal too much. While this may be true, the way my office is set up, my main boss (boss number 1) gets the Wall Street Journal everyday and then passes it on to me once he’s finished. I then look through it and then pass it on to my other boss (boss number 2). Most of the time however, boss number 1 lets his daily Wall Street Journals stack up on his desk for about a week before passing them on to me. Naturally I can’t just sit there and read five -ten issues of the Wall Street Journal during the day, so they end up sitting on my desk for awhile. By the time I get around to passing them onto boss number 2, they’re already a week or two old, and by then he has no interest in reading them.

Usually since he doesn’t get around to reading them, I don’t have to worry that he’s already read the story when I say, “I read this article in the Wall Street Journal… blah blah blah”.

Also, I’m pretty sure that none of my friends read The Wall Street Journal either so I often find myself filling their heads with random WSJ knowledge.

Gretchen Wilson brushed against me as she made her way through the hordes of people in Tin Roof on Demonbreun last night.

Then immediately after she walked by some big guy she was with pushed me out the way.
