Last week I had bronchitis. It was no big deal; I just felt like crap and coughed a lot. I’d say right now I’m 90% over it though. I just have a small residual cough and a little bit of a runny nose.
Today this guy I work with heard me coughing and said I still didn’t sound very good. He then told me I probably have AIDS* and I should get that checked out.
Yeah that just happened.
*Note: I have been tested and I do not have AIDS and/or any other sexually transmitted diseases.

Before you read this, here is the back story: This girl, who we will call “The Neighbor”, and I know each other through several mutual friends. She basically lives down the street from me. Around Christmas, she and I went to dinner one night. Although, she’s nice and very pretty, our personalities are very different. Needless to say it didn’t work out. No big deal. Since then she started dating a guy who has temporarily moved out of state for his job. She and I talk maybe once every week or two, so it’s not like communication between us is completely out of the blue.
With that said here is the conversation she and I had yesterday via text.
Me: You want to go watch a movie with me tomorrow night?
The Neighbor: Just you and me?
Me: Yeah. Is that ok?
The Neighbor: You know I’m not going to do that.
Me: I’m not asking you on a date. I just wanted to go watch a movie.
The Neighbor: But it’s not like we are good friends – it would be different if we were.
Me: I guess. I thought we were friends nonetheless. I didn’t realize we had to be bffs to hang out.
The Neighbor: We don’t have to be. Sorry, I’m not trying to sound rude.
I didn’t respond.
Ouch!

I know this is bad, but I saw it on the internets and it made me laugh.
“Go to a church on Easter. Every time someone says “he has risen,” yell “that’s what she said!” It’ll be fun!”
Ehhh… I’m going to hell.

Today my buddy was expressing to me how bad of a week he was having.
Since I try to always be there for my friends, I told him to let me know if I could help in any way.
I then asked him if he wanted me to drive his new car for a while.

My friend Michael emailed me saying that for his bar application he needed to give references of people who have known him for 5+ years, aren’t related to him, and who he didn’t list on his employment related questions. Naturally since I’ve known him since we were in 2nd or 3rd grade (I forget) he said he was going to list me. He just needed all my contact information and whatever I wanted him to put down as my title.
I wrote him back and said that I am the following:
Risk Analyst, Inventor, Writer, Amateur Stunt Man, Student, Lover, Artist, Runner, Landlord, Son, Web Designer, Chef, Dance Instructor, Democrat, Brother, Event Planner, Bar Tender, and Your Best Friend

In a recent group email about a possible game night the following topics were discussed:
- Women cooking food
- jenga
- booze
- North Carolina
- dentist appointments
- March Madness
- old people
- facebook
- facebook stalking
- bags of fun
- bears (that might be bad news)
- flying cars
At the end of all this discussion, it was decided that there would in fact be a game night.

Last night I decided not to go out and celebrate ole Saint Patrick driving the snakes out of Ireland. Instead I stayed home cooked a black bean quesadilla and drank a couple Bud Lights (In some areas, a traditional Irish meal).
The roommate did comment on my Irish accent though. I was surprised when she said that it was actually better than my British accent.
I just didn’t think that was possible since my British accent is so amazing.

This week at work I’ve been doing a little spring cleaning. By this I mean I’m purging a filing cabinet that’s full of various contracts and/or agreements that we no longer need anymore. Some of these files literally go back to 1986.
Judging by the amount of coughing I’ve recently started doing, I am apparently pretty allergic to 23 year old dust.
