Last night I attempted to make chicken pot pie. I say attempted because I somehow screwed it up and the recipe only called for four ingredients. I think the problem was not so much me, but actually the can placement at Kroger. Somehow I grabbed the can of “cream of chicken soup VERDE” instead of the regular cream of chicken soup. In case you’re like me and had no idea, apparently “cream of chicken soup VERDE” means that it’s full of peppers.
While the addition of the peppers didn’t make the chicken pot pie taste bad, I made sure I waited until after my fiance said something about the heat before I tried explaining what had happened. I was kind of hoping she wouldn’t notice that her mouth was burning and she was working up a sweat eating dinner.
