I forgot to mention that a few weeks ago Heather and I went to a Natasha Bedingfield concert. Heather won the tickets off the radio along with back stage passes. It was a really good concert and we even got to meet Natasha Bedingfield.

I just thought I would share that.

On Tuesday Heather and I went to the lake with Gavin and Liz. The weather was amazing and the water was warm. And because it was Tuesday, we were the only people on the lake. It was a blast.
While Gavin and I were swimming around, Heather and Liz were sitting on the boat getting some sun. Although the boat was about 15 feet away I noticed something floating in the water next to it. I asked Heather to confirm if the object was what I thought it was since she was right next to it.
Sure enough, I was right. It was a hypodermic needle floating in the water right where we had decided to swim.

Disgusted, we decided to treat the needle like a bee and not bother it and hope it wouldn’t bother us. Of course since we needed to be aware of this disease spreading contraption floating around us, the concept of naming it seemed funny to me. So for the rest of the day I referred to it as “Sticky the hypodermic needle” and had the idea of what its Muppet character would look like in my head.

So I’m sitting here at Havertys and I’ve got nothing to do. Well I wouldn’t say that I have nothing to do, it’s more like I don’t want to do anything. This working until 9:00 at night is over rated.
Since I’ve got nothing better to talk about, perhaps you could help me with something. I’ve been struggling with the proper use of “used to” or “use to”. Should it be written, “I used to eat a lot of pudding” or “I use to eat a lot of pudding”? I just don’t know.

Well not much has been going on this past week. It’s kind of hard to follow up my big news about getting a new job and getting engaged. I feel like everything else I want to write about is kind of trivial. Who wants to read that I go to work, come home, take a quick 30 minute nap, get up, go to class, and then come home and watch TV?
Seriously that’s all I’ve been doing this week.
Maybe next week will be a little more exciting. I start my new job on Monday so we’ll see.

I don’t know if its because I’ve had a lot going on, or perhaps I just had a “brain fart”, but I somehow just overdrew from my checking account. Please note that this is not a very common occurrence for me. I’m usually pretty thorough when it comes to my money. However, this time I somehow forgot to remember that my car insurance automatically comes out if my checking account every month.
Stupid car insurance. I’m not very happy about this.

Well the truth is, I’ve known that I got a new job for a week. I’ve just been sitting on this little bit of information because I decided that this would be a great time to propose to Heather. So basically I got a new job and I’m now engaged.
Because I don’t know that I could do the story anymore justice than what Heather has already written, here is an excerpt from our wedding page that Heather has started working on:
HOW IT HAPPENED
Blake is graduating from Middle Tennessee State University in August so he has been keeping his eyes open for any job opportunities that may pop up. Before he even had a chance to look, the perfect job fell into his lap working for the company he has been working with for the past 2 years. As far as I knew Blake had interviewed with many important people for the job and there had been no news about hiring him. He then came home one day and told me he would find out whether he got the job on Friday 6/16/06. That Friday Blake called me excitedly telling me he got the job but he would have to talk to me over dinner that night to give me the details. We then went to dinner and started to head toward home. Right before we pulled into the parking lot of our apartment he asked me to wait outside for just a minute so he could go up first. I thought he had just gotten the job that day so I had no idea what was going on. I was then asked to come in and was totally shocked. Our apartment was covered in candles and flowers and Blake was standing in front of me. He told me he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me and that he loved me and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes, of course, and now we are engaged!

Most people find loose change, a sock, an ear ring, etc. but not me. No, I find a car flipped upside down and smashed in a drainage ditch.
Kind of weird.
This morning as I was coming to work, I noticed that the stop sign coming out of my apartment complex was missing. At first thought, I figured someone stole it. Then I looked over to my right and saw a car, flipped upside down, and smashed in the drainage ditch. I quickly jumped out and ran down into the ditch to see if anyone was hurt. Luckily, there was no one in the car.
I decided to just call the police and let them figure it out.

Today I realized that people who shout and have arguments in public places on their cell phones are rude.
Also I went against my better judgment to be a good samaritan and I didn’t call the, “how’s my driving” number on a furniture rental truck that I saw double park in two handicap spaces while the driver ran into a gas station (on his two good legs) to buy cigarettes.
Lastly I realized that even though my eyes were hurting like crazy today, putting in eye drops still sucks.
