Dear Loud and Annoying People in Calypso Cafe,

I just wanted to write you a quick letter so you would know that I appreciate your efforts to ruin my dinner last night. I know it’s hard to use inside voices, especially when there are six of you, but you lack of effort really made me smile. I know that I was asking a lot by wanting to sit there, eat my black bean salad, and listen to reggae music like a normal Calypso Cafe patron. I honestly don’t mind that because of your loud conversations I completely missed out on the atmosphere of the restaurant by not jammin’ to the reggae music while I ate.

Although you may not realize this, but some people might consider you a bunch of jerks, but not me. Also, just so you know, my black bean salad was awesome.

Believe it or not, I’m actually glad that this weekend is finally over. I had just gotten use to this nice new summer routine when BAM, everything gets thrown out of whack.

I pretty much spent my entire weekend at Heather’s parents house. Basically what happened, is her little brother graduated from high school (good for him) and most of her family from PA came to visit. Of course because she never gets to see her family, with that whole 1,000 miles away thing, it was only right that we spend time with them.

So to recap the weekend in one long sentence:
We litterily spent most of all day, each day this weekend away from home, we ate some much I still feel like I’m going to puke, somehow we squeezed the DaVinci Code in there, and although it was nice while it lasted, I’m glad to be getting back to normal.

Maybe it was my nap or my high consumption of coffee yesterday, but for some reason I couldn’t sit still last night. I came home from working out and felt like I needed to do some things around the house. So what do I do? I decide to work on a project I started about a month ago and never finished. I decided to clean out my filing cabinet. Two trash bags full of shredded paper later and every bill, every pay stub, and countless other things I’ve collected over the last two years is now confetti.

It was such a relief to get rid of some of that clutter that I decided to reorganize my book shelf. Then I decided to wash the blanket Heather and I keep on the couch in the living room. Then I thought, “Why not wash my shoes”. Then of course I had to take all that trash out. I couldn’t just leave bags of confetti lying around. Then I quizzed Heather for an hour and a half for a test she has today. Then I read some of my new book (which is quite good by the way). Then at last, I finally went to bed. However, I did wake up at 3:14 and 4:43 this morning thinking it was time to get ready for work.

I’m going to try and start drinking lots of coffee and taking naps every day!

Hello Friends,

Sorry I haven’t written much lately. You’d be surprised to know that it’s because my site has been down. Yes that right, my site has been down. What a surprise! It seems like this is becoming an every week thing. However, fret not my dear friends, plans are currently in the works to move this site yet again to another web hosting provider. I just haven’t fully made up my mind as to what I’m going to call the thing. Unfortunately for me, www.blakeroberson.com is already taken, but I’ll come up with something. In the meantime how about if I catch you up on what’s going on?

• I’ve been working more. Somehow I finally convinced my coworkers that my talents were being far underutilized. Now I’m not just the website/database jockey that I have been in the past. I’ve been performing a lot more good old fashion audit work with the best of them. Maybe they’ll like what I’m doing and offer me a J-O-B.
• Speaking of which, I’m just about to graduate. Right now I’m looking at a little under three months. I’m literally chomping at the bits waiting for August 12th to get here. Note that you should be getting an invitation in the mail sometime soon.
• Since I’m right on the very edge of jumping into the real world, I’ve been doing a little job hunting. So far I’ve polished up my resume’, bought a new suit, and applied for four different jobs, all of which I would be very excited to get. All I need to do now I get a hair cut and start practicing my interviewing skills. If you can think of three words to describe me I would be very appreciative to get your opinion.

Any who, I hope to update my site more tomorrow. Until then I hope that you enjoyed reading this letter to you. Also I hope you will consider giving me your opinion of three words that best describe me. Please note that douche bag is two words and you are not allowed to use either of them.

I think it’s funny that when I click on the Spam folder in gmail, it offers me links to recipes for Spam tacos and Spam casserole. Who would want to eat Spam tacos? Blah!

From My Most Recent Trip To Alaska

The other night Heather and I went to Wendy’s for dinner. While I know it’s not gourmet by any means, it was late and we were really hungry. We both decided to get #1 combos and an order of $.99 chicken nuggets that we were going to split and eat on the ride home.

10 minutes later, we’re home with our combos and now empty chicken nugget box and a half eaten container of BBQ sauce. Heather grabbed the #1 combos and I snatched up the drinks and the trash. Unfortunately for me, I also needed to get something out of the backseat.

I placed what I had in my hands on the roof of the car while I bent down to get what I needed. As I was standing up I felt a big “plop” on my head. Apparently it was pretty windy that night.

Long story short, I had to run my head under the sink before I went to bed. If I didn’t my pillow would have been covered in BBQ sauce, although I would have smelled delicious.

Just so you know, my website is really stupid. I wrote this funny story this morning and when I went to post it, my site was down. Then about an hour later I photoshopped a funny picture of my friend Kati and I dressed as Eskimos and then when I went to post it, my site was down.

I’ve been trying to change my hosting company but I haven’t had any luck. Also I’m thinking about buying a new web address but the one I want won’t be available until later this month. In the event that doesn’t go through, I’m going to need some ideas for a new name for my website.

If you don’t mind, I would appreciate it if you would leave a comment with your ideas on what my site should be called. If I use your idea, I’ll send you a prize pack full of wonderful things, no joke.

UPDATE: No one has posted any comments yet so I guess I’ll continue to keep my awesome prize pack.

The other day I got on my scale and it read 204.6.

Just so you know, I’ve always been a big guy and I’ve NEVER seen that number. Ever!

I sound like such a girl talking about this stuff.
